About our Unit:
The Scripps Ranch Unit advocates and raises funds for Rady Children's Hospital and also has several fun social events throughout the year. We usually meet on the third Monday of each month from September through June, with a social at 6:30 P.M. and the business meeting beginning at 7 P.M.
Most of our members live in Scripps Ranch or nearby communities including Rancho Bernardo and Poway.

Work with kids:
Volunteer at at Alexa's PlayC (Playful Learning Academy for Young Children.) This is an early education program offered through Rady Children's Hospital's Autism Discovery Institute for children ages 18 months to 5 years. It is a unique inclusion program designed to integrate early education for typically developing children and children with autism. Members are welcome to volunteer for an hour at a time to read or play with the children. |
Work with Auxiliary Members:
With Rady Children’s Hospital affiliated events happening all throughout the year, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved with other volunteers just like you. Examples: Semi-annual and annual meetings of the Auxiliary, holiday gift-wrapping at UTC, Holiday Ice Rink at Liberty Station, attending fundraising events hosted by other units, monthly Education Seminars, unit socials. |
Causes We Support:
In 2024 the Scripps Ranch Unit's major event raised funds for the Department of Neuroscience to help fight Pediatric Inflammatory Brain Disorders. In the past we have fundraised for the Department of Endocrinology to fight Type 1 Diabetes, the Medical Behavioral Unit/Eating Disorders Treatment, Autism, the Heart Institute, Child Life Services, The Center for Healing Arts, Audiology, NICU, Neurosciences, the Institute for Genomics Medicine, the Peckham Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, and many more.
